Your voice neverleaves your Mac.

System-audio capture separates Me from Them with Kyutai, Whisper, Parakeet or available Apple Speech, without a virtual audio device. Recording notifies you when a calendar meeting begins, notices when the meeting seems over, and offers to resume after your Mac wakes.

• Optional Opus audio with a retention policy, replayable by clicking the transcript
• Stop, then Resume later: one meeting can hold several sessions
• Recovers or salvages the session if the engine stalls or the mic disappears
• Everything grouped by day, searchable by meeting title and dictation text

With the default model the text streams in while you are still talking, punctuated and capitalised. A local pass can tidy the phrasing before you use it, and that same model handles French and English without you switching anything.

• Text appears as you speak, not once you stop
• Press once to start and stop, or hold to talk, including on a lone modifier key
• Say a trigger phrase to paste a voice snippet instead of free dictation
• Fix a misheard name by hand once, and it stays fixed
• A local LLM pass polishes the wording when a provider is available, with editable prompts
• French and English on the same model, no switching

Soufflé is not a window you type into. Press the shortcut and a small overlay appears above whatever you are in, then the text lands in the field your cursor was already in. Chat, mail, an editor, a terminal: the overlay does not care which, and by default it is kept out of screen recordings.

• The text lands where your cursor already was, with no copy and paste
• Terminals and secure fields can get simulated keystrokes instead
• Optional start and stop sounds, so you know the shortcut landed

Faithfully summarizing a long meeting remains difficult for a small local model. Soufflé is experimenting with Apple Intelligence, Ollama and LLMLingua-2 compaction across Apple Silicon configurations. A useful transcript comes first; meeting summaries are not presented as a validated feature.

• Summaries and compaction are off by default; opt in under Settings → AI
• Default target: retain 65% of the text before intermediate long-summary stages
